The Curtain Falls...
Its been about two and a half weeks since my grand shindig of a birthday party and I've been a bit remiss in my duties. I have to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!! The weekend was filled with adventure, surprise, drama, and intrigue.
The weekend was filled with a series of random events that never ruined the fun time for all, just added little twists and turns. From Thursday night with airport security in SF (Clarissa's soy milk), the baggage claim in LAX (with Clarissa bag and the parasitic masking tape. Oversleeping to get to the airport then next morning, and then finally making it to Disneyland on friday with everyone. Disneyland was awesome, filled with tons of magical memories. Gordon's obsession with Ariel, running back and forth for fast passes, the mickey pumpkin pie, playing DS while waiting for fireworks, getting Golden ears, the posed space mt. pics, and so much more. There was even a letdown. The pics the Disneyland people took of the group in front of the castle and the front garden were deleted. So its a good thing that we had them take pics with our camera as well. But even with an ending like that, it was an awesome day.
The next morning most of us headed to Curry House for lunch, where I left my party to get hair and make-up done with Ashley, and then pick up the flowers for the party. Once I got back, everyone got ready and the party was on. The "Black and White Ball" I think went off very well. Everyone seemed to have a good time, and the food was especially delicious.We danced till midnight, then some started to break apart. Some went to play games in the theater, some simply went home, my group headed up to my room for a quick opening of some gifts and then out to dennys.
The following day was filled with many more inexpected events. so I'll number them
1) 7:30am- Bring Henry to airport (He is delayed for 30 mins, but gets out alright)
2) 11:30am- Check out of room and bring Gordon and Clarissa to airport, with Will and Ashley in tow. Rosina, Lily and Jason drive up from hotel. Steve is picked up by my dad for his trip to the airport. Gordon and Clarissa's original United 1pm was cancelled and they are now on a 12:45pm American flgiht.
3) 12:00pm- leave airport and head to Marukai for lunch with Will and Ashley. There get a phone call from Clarissa saying they missed their flight and would not be able to get out till 6am the following morning. Chances on standby seemed slim.
4) 1:00pm - Drop off Will and Ashley at airport and pick up Gordon and Clarissa. The decision was made simply to come back at 6am instead of sitting on standby all day long. I tell them I will take them to Downtown Disney. to which ashley says "I wanna go"
5) 2:00pm - get some food for the duo, and back to the house. We open the gifts, and take a nap.
6) 6:30pm - head out to Downtown Disney
7) 7:15pm - the 3 of us go to see if we can take a picture in the park, because our pics were deleted. (we were given a coupon for a free pic, but we would need to take a new one, and the coupon was only good for a week. But we didn't want to have to buy a ticket to go in the park for just a picture. Sean at the ticket booth says that if we buy the ticket and come back within an hour, then we would get a full refund.
8) 7:30pm - we make attempt #2 for the castle pic, only to discover there are no Disney photogs around. We take some pics with our personal cameras and head back out of the park.
9)7:45pm - we meet up with Mila, Chan, and Chi and luckily get a table right away at Rainforest Cafe. We have a wonderful dinner there with Mila and Co. And get to sit around and just chat about anything and everything.
10) 10:30pm - We head to the World of Disney store and buy some little friends to commemerate the weekend.
11) 12:00pm - we finally make it home. We watch HITCH and fall asleep for 30mins.
12) 4:00am - I make one final trip to the airport with my crew in tow and drop them off one last time.
13) 8am - I get a text from Gordon saying they have made it back to SF alright.
and if that wasn't the end of it...
14) 11:30am - Meet up with Bethany for lunch, on our way out, she gets in a minor accident in the parking lot. She is fine, the guy was just talking on his cell as he was backing out and hit her back bumper.
and then I went home to sleep it all off....
