well,
time flys so quickly
and this was a super busy weekend

thursday was class ALL day, then head to dinner for Rosina's b-day and then finally home
friday was Grilling, and you know how long that can take
saturday was activation, family lunch, b-day party, service project, Episode 2 and then
sunday- Bay 2 breakers!

now yeah, if you didn't know, I'm sure you heard it by now
bay to breakers was ALL rain
from about 8am to when we left around 1pm it rained, and it was still raining when we left

After I finished working my station and Lily and I walked back to the meeting location, I managed to get utterly and completely soaked, not only by rain, but by stupid people in windows spraying water at me with super soakers. Once I got to the meeting place, everyone looked at me like I was shoved into a pool or something. I couldn't really see- 'cause my glasses were so wet and I took them off. oh well... continuing

We finally leave to go eat lunch
after getting lost and stuck in traffic and just high tension everywhere
we finally hit davis again.

sorry, I really don't feel like posting this non-sensical drivel
you don't want to read it and I don't want to write it,
so I am now going to sleep
to fight off the cold that standing in the rain for 4 hours has given me

I'm honeydew bubble tea!

your flavor is oO Honeydew Oo
Congratulations, you sweetheart. You enjoy wild popularity because of your sweetness and your caring nature. Selfless and sensitive, you care deeply about others and you worry sometimes about what others think about you. But people everywhere love you, so that's okay.

--------------------Do you have a darkside- Star Wars test?---------------------------------

RESULTS

You're tipping dangerously over the edge between good and evil. The Dark Side hasn't won you over completely, but chances are you look at a light saber and say, "Cool, I can cut stuff in half!" rather than, "Cool, I can maintain peace and order in the galaxy!" Be careful where you tread, young Jedi.

yeah
this weekend was cool
cleaned up putah creek in the morning; marine world in the afternoon- got my pass (too bad my BP was low the whole day and made me feel all sick)

but then went to dinner in Richmond and then onto Rosina's for chocolate fondue

ummm... excuse me, my house is on fire

okay, now I'm back. small grease fire in the kitchen. My bro was frying wontons with and got caught up watching tv when he suddenly got up and went to the kitchen. I started to smell smoke. Everything happened really fast then

Rosina and I suddenly saw orange light coming from the stove, and after saying "oh shit"
I see smoke and so I open the back sliding glass door and rosina opens the front door
Will goes for a lid to cover the pot and the one he grabs is too small
so flames are still sputtering everywhere when he asks "do we have any baking soda? it puts out grease fires right?"
and I'm like "yeah, its in the cabinet next to you"
and then he looks, doesn't see it, I tell him where its at
he dumps a little on
and suddenly its like "Backdraft" or something
flames shoot up in a straight column and then hit the ceiling and spread across
i'm all like "ummm, maybe that didn't work"
but when they lower again, and the fire seems to be smaller, and then he dumps more on it and the fire is out
the paper towel with the wontons is on fire, but we can put that out

so the result- a dish towel with a hole
lots of wontons ruined
a pot and a lid severly blackened
Will's finger burned
(oh yeah, then we realized the oven was on too..... that could have been REALLY BAD)
the ceiling a little black and bubbling
but at least we know that everyone is calm under pressure.

okie, I think I'll make cookies now
hee hee

so

after a nice little bitch fest with my good friend Sarah.
we seemed to have solved our problems with the drama department

with her as peer advisor next year and me still working there its simple

WE TAKE OVER- no questions asked, and we never back down.
"I am woman, hear me roar"

*smiles* and the sun shines again.

day by day

sorry that I haven't been updating this sucker, but time seems to fly when your having fun (but I'm not really having fun, so go fig)

real quick notes on fanime con
--- got to kick it with my best friend from LA- Rick. Man, I haven't seen him since christmas and it was just great to hang out again. hee hee, had me smiling for a week.
--- finally bought the CLOW book that I have been eyeing for a year. If anyone has seen card captor sakura- you know that she captures cards, so this book is all the cards from the series. Its cool (stop looking at me like I'm a wierdo)
--- felt a little rejected by alot of the staff, like my staff and people who knew me from last con were cool, but all the new people really kept giving me the "who the hell are you?" looks and staring me down. ... bastards,

which brings me to my next topic

after a weekend of being treated like shit at fanime con (ahem, by staff who I technically outrank- but they are older and thus think they are better than me). I go to work to train the new guy, when everyone at the theater treats me like I'm non-existant. Like I'm standing right there, and they all know that I am the senior house manager and when they ask "Who's the house manager tonight?" everyone turns to Bennett. Not that I am saying that he is a bad guy, buy geez. Did you not see me standing right next to him?

maybe like 10 minutes later I change into my work clothes (I had come straight from dance class) and suddenly I am recognized again. I was like WTF? doyou only see me when I wear a skirt? geez.
then when I ask the stage manager, Al (he's a cutie!) when I can open the house he responds
"Oh, in like 5-10mins"
me: "ok"
Al: "for real this time"
me (and Dan- whom I am scratching/massaging his back at the time): "huh?"
Al : "Oh, for Nigel's show (AN: the last show I worked on) I would purposely hold the house"
me" oh, I didn't care"
Al: "Yeah, it was because Darrell was all anal about opening the house at 7:30 and so was Jeff"
me" Oh, I was like - whatever-. Its a two way street, the longer you keep me from opening the house, the longer it takes for the audience to get in, the longer it takes for you to start the show"
Al: "I guess it works out for us then"

yeah, so thanks Al- take your fustrations out on me why don't you.
Thank god for Mish and Dan- reaping the benefits of my anger and getting back massages to help me calm down.

Yeah. hee hee, my mini-revenge was reaped on Friday night, when it was just me working again. Basically my whole attitude was "who gives a fuck about regualtion?" and let as many people as I like in. Okay, okay, I usually let people that i know work in the department in, but my attitude even had my friend Phil comment "man, look at her, she's gone crazy" to which I replied "just getting some payback for being treated like shit"

ok, so the things I did
I am supposed to have ushers, who sign up in advance, and work to show so that they can see it for free
--- I really shouldn't have anyone except for the people who signed up
so when Rachel came up to me and asked if she could work and get a free ticket- I said "do you want to not work and get a free ticket anyway?" =)
------------------------------ side story with Rachel. She worked in getting the equipment for Nigel's show, and ifyou work on a show, you typically get in for free. Now, she forgot to reserve her comp ticket for the show, and Darrell (my boss) gave her a whole lecture about the proper procedures for getting tickets, and she shouldn't expect to get any special treatment... etc. etc. and Jeff the other house manager that was working that night gave her a hard time too.

so on that night- when revenge was sweet-, Darrell had the nerve to escort in his "teacher's pet" from his lighting class, and three of his friends since they "forgot to get tickets" to the show. Me and Rachel were fuming since he did it right in front of us. Bastard. grrr.....

anyways. My need for revenge was short-lived that night due to events in the first half of the show.
Suddenly, about 30minutes into the show, a police officer came in saying that there was a head injury that someone called the paramedics for. I sent him to the backstage area, so I figured a dancer was hurt. I felt a peculiar pain in the pit of my stomach

When I got on the headset to tell the stage manager that the paramedics had arrived, it went like this
me: "Al, just telling you that the paramedics are with the injured dancer"
al: "okay, is Darrell still with them"
me: "yeah, I think so"
al: "ok. What was the name of the dancer anyway?"

eric (another person on headset) : "Clarissa"

al: "and she was injured in the first piece?"
eric: "no the second"
al: "is she in anymore?"
eric: "no, thats it"

I bolt from the main lobby and run backstage,
you see dear friends, if you didn't know already, Clarissa is a friend of mine. The fellowship VP to iota phi moreover, and now is suffering from a concussion.
thankfully I am met by Eric (yeah the guy on the headset) who takes one look at me and says "she's going to be okay. come with me to see her" (ahhh... I love Eric- he's a pledge in CLOSE too)
I sneak to the back door to see her laying on a couch talking to the paramedics. Shes a little dizzy, but is going to be alright. they took her to the hospital for precautions, but she is okay today and thats all that matters.

fun friday huh?

Saturday was CLW and Miss A Phi O. Fun and scary at the same time... probably the first, last and only time I'm gonna be a judge. Got accosted too many times by the contestants.
Took Clarissa back to my place to do the customary waking her up every two hours to make sure that she is alright.
Took AAXi back to my place so that Henry could get some rest before heading out to a party (and the cheesecake that I promised him)
Stayed up till almost 5 talking about life in general with Will and Rosina. Then we all fell asleep (IN MY BED)
then woke up at 1205pm
had to be at work by 1230
took a quick shower, headed to the show
people *ahem* kept showing up late

but then I got this mean ladt during intermission coming up to me =---- she VERY rudely talks to me=-=-=-=
lady "the music inside is too loud, it hurts my daughters ears"
me: "I am sorry ma'me, I can ask the stage manager to turn the music down, but I don't know how much he can do"
lady: "Well, is there anywhere else we can sit, like towards the back so it won't be so bad"
me: "the speakers are mounted not only on stage but also above the doors at the back of the theater, so I don't really know of a place where the sound levels would be any lower. You are more then welcome to move seats if you find one more suitable."
lady: (as she stares at me like I'm stupid) "Well, you've been UNhelpful"
and she walks away

FUCK! is this pick on Sam week or what. I told her that I would get someone to turn it down but she still stares at me like I'm pond scum or something. I really don't need this shit from people. I feel like I have been shafted by some people and pushed around by others. I'm sick of it, and you know what... now is the time to deal with my own terms.

no more miss nice girl
and the next time someone calls me "mom" in a derogatory way is getting their ass kicked
