Proof that you whould never leave me alone with my thoughts
Do you ever wonder...
At work recently I was putting together packets and filing papers and generally putting things in order, when suddenly it struck me....
Where fo paper clips go?
I mean, no one ever really looks for a lost paperclip, you just go out and find a new one... becuase they only cost you like half a cent for each one.. but where do the lost ones go? Do tiny little fairys take them and make little paper clip houses from them? Do mice take them to spring mouse traps without getting hurt? Is there an office supply toy story type life.. when the forgotten ones can move on and dream of life where they can be a Pepsi can or part of a car? What happens to the things we lose and never take the time to look for? Like hair rubber bands and buttons, bobbie pins and safety pins, needles and pens? Where do they go... maybe to a lost stuff heaven in the sky... waiting for the day for someone to look for them again...
PART TWO
This is what it looks like... when mall die
Last weekend, my brother and I entered the twilight zone of the digital world. After shopping for DVDs we decided to hit up a local mall (around the Fountain Valley area) that we had always seen but never been to. My first indication that this mall wasn't the most popular place around was the fact that there was a really big Broadway store there... now as many of you probably do not know, Broadway is a departmetn store that went out of business oh about 10 years ago. And yet this mall still had the empty multi-story store in the middle of the parking lot. So we drive down to see more life in the area... passing an empty montgomery wards (with the old 70s logo) , and seeing basically no life at this mall. I tell my brother that its time we just left this "Mall that time forgot" and he, as usual, doesn't listen to me and parks anyway. We enter what seems to be the only store open , a Mervyn's, and walking in we see all the clearance signs and close out sales in this little store. We walk through and go to the connection between the mall and the store, which is closed off and looking at the mall: only the sunlight filtering through the windows and seeing the empty stores, clearance posters on the windows and empty halls.
It was kinda sad.
So this is what it looks like... when malls die
